Speaking on behalf of the Italian people, President Sergio Mattarella extended his most sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the President of the Republic and the families of the victims. He expressed his personal solidarity with Algeria during this painful time, affirming that Italy stands firmly by the Algerian people in this ordeal, which has prompted the declaration of a national mourning period.
On this tragic occasion, the Italian President also directed his thoughts to the grieving families, wishing a speedy and full recovery for the injured and expressing his hope that they can overcome the aftermath of this devastating tragedy.
