Following the passing of the esteemed Mujahid Fodil Ben Salem, known by his nom de guerre "Si Noureddine," the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, extended his sincere condolences on Friday to the family of the deceased and to the entire revolutionary family, according to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic.
The condolence message read: "It is with a heart wrung by pain and profound sorrow that the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received today the news of the passing of the valiant Mujahid Fodil Ben Salem, known as 'Si Noureddine.'"
The statement highlighted the historical significance of the late veteran, noting that he was a prominent member of the National Council of the Algerian Revolution (CNRA) and one of the founding militants of the National Liberation Front (FLN) Federation in France. The deceased was distinguished by his heroism and unwavering tenacity in defending the homeland, significantly contributing to carrying the battle to the enemy's soil and writing honorable pages in the history of the glorious National Liberation Revolution.
"In the face of this immense loss, the President of the Republic extends his most sincere condolences and deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased and to the entire revolutionary family, praying to Almighty God to encompass him with His infinite mercy, welcome him into His vast paradise, and grant his loved ones patience and solace," the statement concluded.
