The Algerian national table tennis team successfully concluded its participation in the 2026 African Youth Cup, hosted in Accra, Ghana, by securing three new medals (one silver and two bronzes), the Algerian Table Tennis Federation announced.
The silver medal was claimed by Jade Mouress in the Under-19 (U19) category, while Tania Mouress took home the bronze in the same division. Meanwhile, Ritadj Brahim Djelloul (Under-15) secured a bronze medal following an outstanding performance.
The Federation praised the high level of competitiveness displayed by all members of the national delegation, extending its congratulations to the athletes, the technical staff, and everyone who contributed to achieving these results.
The Federation reserved a special tribute for 12-year-old Ritadj Brahim Djelloul, emphasizing that her continental bronze medal reflects her immense talent. It also highlighted that her success embodies the fruits of hard work, perseverance, and the federation's policy of cultivating young talents.
These recent achievements bolster Algeria's overall tally in African youth competitions. Prior to this event, the national team harvested seven medals at the African Youth Table Tennis Championships, which were also held in Accra. That impressive haul included one gold, two silvers, and four bronzes, highlighted by the continental title won by Tania Mouress in the U19 category.
This participation falls within the broader strategy of the Algerian Table Tennis Federation, which is dedicated to supporting youth categories and preparing emerging talents for upcoming international challenges.
