Kaylia Nemour settled for seventh place today, Saturday, in the uneven bars final at the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup.

This came after a "fall" by the Algerian champion (19 years old), leaving her with a score of 12.900 in "Cottbus 2026" in Germany.

Italian Elisa Iorio was crowned champion (14.266), ahead of Russian Milana Kaimova (14.133) and fellow Italian Giulia Perotti (14.033).

Nemour will have the chance to make amends when she competes in a second final in the balance beam discipline this Sunday evening.

The International Federation had recognized, on Friday, the artistic move of the Algerian champion Kaylia Nemour.

After having her name attached to the "Nemour 1" move months ago, Kaylia now holds the "authorship rights" to the "Nemour 2" move.

This came as a result of the unique technique innovated by Nemour in the uneven bars competition.

Nemour had previously achieved a distinctive score of 15.200 points in the qualifiers, which she topped ahead of the brightest stars of world gymnastics.

Following the pattern of her first gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Nemour wrote history in October 2025 during the World Championships in Jakarta.

Kaylia Nemour became the first Arab and African gymnast to be crowned world champion in this discipline.
