Annaba Mediterranean Film Festival Records Over 2,000 Entries from 101 Countries

The Board of the Annaba Mediterranean Film Festival received over 2,000 film submissions from 101 countries to participate in the activities of the 6th edition of the festival for the year 2026, according to a statement released by the board on Sunday.

The statement explained that the cinematic works received by the festival's specialized committees included feature-length films, shorts, and documentaries. These works reflect the richness of the Mediterranean and international cinematic scene and confirm the trust of producers and directors in this prominent artistic event.

In the same context, the viewing and selection committees have commenced a rigorous screening process to determine the final shortlists of films that will compete in the festival's various categories.

The statement also noted that the selected films will be screened as Algerian premieres, a step aimed at providing fresh cinematic content to the audience and enhancing the value of artistic excellence.

Through this edition, the Annaba Mediterranean Film Festival aspires to consolidate its position as an international platform for cinematic dialogue, support serious cinema, and encourage emerging talents, while promoting cultural exchange among Mediterranean countries and opening up to diverse global cinematic experiences, according to the same statement.
