The Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjal, received a delegation from "Elsewedy Electric Algeria" on Tuesday in Algiers. Led by the company's General Manager, Mostafa Awad Elhalawany, the meeting focused on reviewing the state of cooperation with the Egyptian partner and the progress in implementing agreements made with the Sonelgaz group, according to a ministry statement.

Held at the ministry's headquarters in the presence of several senior officials, the meeting is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen foreign cooperation and explore ways to expand Algeria's international partnership prospects in the energy sector, the statement added.

During the meeting, Mr. Adjal discussed the current state of cooperation between the Sonelgaz group and Elsewedy Electric, praising the Egyptian partner for honoring its commitments.

The Minister also emphasized that expanding into foreign markets—particularly in Africa and the Middle East—is a top priority for the sector. This focus primarily targets areas related to energy equipment manufacturing, engineering, and the construction of power generation plants and transformer substations.

He also highlighted the possibility of expanding Elsewedy Electric's operations in Algeria to include the manufacturing of electrical cable accessories, high-voltage electrical insulators, and high-voltage transformers, the same source detailed.

For his part, General Manager Mostafa Awad Elhalawany expressed Elsewedy Electric Algeria's desire to expand cooperation with the Sonelgaz group, describing them as an "important partner." He reaffirmed the company's commitment to respecting all agreements established between the two parties.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Adjal called for "accelerating the pace of work" on joint projects between Sonelgaz and Elsewedy Electric. He specifically highlighted the push toward African markets, leveraging the extensive industrial expertise of both parties, the statement concluded.
