The Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mines has stated that the upcoming "Algeria Bid Round 2026" call for tenders, to be launched by the National Agency for the Valorization of Hydrocarbon Resources (ALNAFT), is a significant step poised to open "a new era of opportunities" in hydrocarbon exploration and development.
In a social media post on Saturday evening, the ministry indicated that "the Agency is preparing to launch the Algerian call for tenders for the year 2026, thereby opening new exploration and development perspectives through some of the most promising opportunities in the world in the hydrocarbon sector, in addition to world-class assets."
More details will be revealed soon, the ministry added, emphasizing that "Algeria is moving forward toward the exploitation of new potential, the strengthening of strategic partnerships, and the future development of the hydrocarbon sector in Algeria."
As a reminder, the "Algeria Bid Round 2024" competitive bidding process, the results of which were announced in June 2025, resulted in the awarding of exploration licenses to companies of various nationalities across five zones.
The launch of the 2024 call for tenders, the first of its kind since 2014, was part of a vast program through which ALNAFT identified 17 hydrocarbon projects to be submitted for investment through a series of calls for tenders aimed at international companies.
