Naâma Questions "Ideologies of Supremacy and Theater" in April

The Naâma Regional Theater is organizing a national symposium titled "Ideologies of Supremacy and Theater" on the upcoming April 12, 13, and 14.

Directed and moderated by dramaturge and director Ziani Chérif Ayad, and chaired by the artist and professor Brahim Djaballah, the symposium will address a range of important themes.

Journalist and critic Bouziane Ben Achour will explore "Algerian Theater and the Founding Decade."

For his part, journalist and writer Nadjib Stambouli will focus on the nuances of "Algerian Theater and the Transformations of Decentralization."

Professor Brahim Noual is expected to discuss Algerian theater before independence and the vision of revolutionary theater.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mohamed Belia Baghdad will address the theme of "Western Ethnocentrism and Colonialism Through the Writings of Edward Said and Frantz Fanon."

Professor Dr. Salim Hioula from the University of Medea will present his perspectives on "Eurocentrism, Historical Structure, the Formation of Consciousness, and the Construction of Biases."

Novelist and playwright Mohamed Bourahla will, in turn, tackle "The Concept of Pre-Theatrical Forms: Scientific Truth or a Supremacist Construct?"

In the same vein, Dr. Toufik Chabou from the University of Algiers 1 will approach the issue of "The Will to Power, Hegemony, and the Creation of Evil: A Post-Colonial Deconstruction."

"Commitment in the Works of Jean Genet: The Models of The Screens and Four Hours in Chatila" will be put under the microscope by academic Abdelkrim Gheribi.

Concurrently, Professor Kamel Chirazi will examine the trajectories of "Jean Genet: The Author, the Man, and the Legacy."

In this context, Dr. Youcef Zaafane will focus on "Bertolt Brecht: The Man and the Achievement Through the Model of The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui."

Alongside the presentations, the sidelines of the event will feature a poetic montage including texts by Kateb Yacine, Jean Genet, Mahmoud Darwish, and Bertolt Brecht.

This will be in addition to staged scenes from the plays: The Martyrs Return This WeekChildren of the Casbah, and They Said, the Arabs Said.
