The Algerian national football team held its second training session yesterday evening, Tuesday, as part of its preparations for the friendly match against Guatemala, scheduled for Friday at 20:30 at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genoa. These preparations fall within the framework of the build-up to the 2026 World Cup (June 11 to July 19), according to a statement by the Algerian Football Federation (FAF).
The session took place once again on one of the pitches at the Juventus Training Center in Vinovo, focusing primarily on technical and tactical aspects, the FAF statement added.
National coach Vladimir Petković is set to hold a press conference this Thursday at 10:00 AM, accompanied by two players from the national team.
During this ongoing preparatory camp in Italy, the national team will play a second friendly match on Tuesday, March 31 (19:30) against Uruguay at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.
For this training camp, the national coach has summoned 27 players, including six new names: goalkeepers Kylian Belazoug (Stade Rennais / France) and Fayçal Melvin Mastil (Stade Nyonnais / Switzerland), defender Achraf Abada (USM Alger), midfielder Adil Aouchiche (Schalke 04 / Germany), and forwards Ahmed Nadir Benbouali (Győr / Hungary) and Farès Ghedjemis (Frosinone / Italy).
"Les Verts" will also play another friendly match on Wednesday, June 3, against the Netherlands in Rotterdam (19:45 Algeria time), just days before heading to the United States for the World Cup finals. Algeria has been drawn in Group 10 alongside Argentina, Austria, and Jordan.
