Giant Open 2026: Jaouad Syoud Clinches Silver in 200m Individual Medley

PARIS- Algerian swimmer Jaouad Syoud secured a silver medal at the 2026 edition of the prestigious Giant Open international tournament, which concluded Sunday evening in France, following a brilliant second-place finish in the 200m individual medley.

The race was won by Brazilian Gabriel Machuco with a time of 2:00.63, ahead of Syoud (2:01.04), while Greece's Jason Routoulas completed the podium with a time of 2:01.05.

The Giant Open is a high-level competition, regarded as one of the premier events for the global swimming elite.

This 2026 edition took place from March 20 to 22 at the Olympic Aquatics Centre in Greater Paris, the venue for the Paris 2024 Games and the future host of the 2026 European Championships.
