The cause of the Sahrawi people was in the spotlight at the Anti-Colonial and Anti-Racist Fair, held on March 28 and 29 in Montreuil (France) as part of the Anti-Colonial and Anti-Racist Week, the Sahrawi Press Service (SPS) reported.
The association of the Sahrawi diaspora in Paris and its surrounding region hosted an information stand throughout the event, allowing visitors to discover the history of the Sahrawi people's struggle, their legitimate demands for self-determination, and the current realities of the conflict in Western Sahara, SPS indicated.
For his part, the spokesperson for Sahrawi youth in France, Ahmedna Abdi, delivered a presentation during a conference in which he discussed the history of the Sahrawi conflict, emphasizing the decolonization process and the responsibilities of the powers involved.
Addressing the current situation, the speaker denounced Morocco's persistent obstruction of the implementation of the UN peace plan.
He also reviewed the repression carried out in the occupied territories, which is marked by grave and systematic human rights violations, as well as the fate of Sahrawi political prisoners held in Moroccan prisons.
