The 23rd edition of Djazagro, the agro-food production trade show, opened this Sunday at the Palais des Expositions (Pins Maritimes) in Algiers, featuring nearly 700 Algerian and foreign exhibitors representing 28 countries.
In addition to the national pavilion, which features over 150 Algerian companies, a notable foreign presence is recorded, represented by Italy, Turkey, China, and Germany. Their companies are showcasing agro-food equipment as well as processing, packaging, and wrapping solutions.
The event, which also features companies from Arab countries including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, and Tunisia, focuses particularly on innovation, notably through the Djaz’Innov competition.
The organizers emphasize that this “event serves as a prime platform for meetings between producers and manufacturers, showcasing a wide range of equipment and machinery dedicated to food processing and packaging”. They highlighted the crucial importance of packaging in enhancing the competitiveness of Algerian products in international markets.
On the sidelines of the trade show, seminars and workshops will be organized, focusing primarily on exports as a driver for growth, the valorization of agricultural by-products, food security, green innovation, circular economy, and packaging techniques in Algeria.
