The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) received on Monday in Algiers a delegation from the Egyptian group "Ezz Steel" to examine investment opportunities in the iron and steel industry in Algeria, an AAPI press release indicated.
The Egyptian delegation is composed of several group officials, led by the Managing Director of "Ezz Steel," Raed Beblawy, in addition to members and senior executives in charge of various technical, legal, and development aspects, the same source specified.
On this occasion, the "Ezz Steel" group presented a briefing on the investment project it intends to realize in Algeria. This involves the production of Direct Reduced Iron (DRI), with prospects for expansion to include the creation of an integrated industrial complex covering the various stages of iron and steel production.
For its part, AAPI reviewed with the Egyptian delegation the investment climate in Algeria, notably the regulatory frameworks in force, the incentives and benefits granted to investors, as well as the support mechanisms and the provision of industrial land based on the technical specificities of the projects.
This meeting is part of AAPI's efforts to explore investment opportunities in Algeria and strengthen national production capacities.
