The National School for Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (Encrbc) is organizing a national forum next May titled "The Role of State Institutions in the Protection and Management of Heritage," within the framework of Heritage Month 2026 (April 18 – May 18), an Encrbc press release indicated.
Organized in collaboration with the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Tipaza, and supervised by the Ministry of Culture and Arts and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, this forum aims to create an academic space for dialogue and the exchange of experiences between researchers, professionals, and experts. It seeks to strengthen partnerships between specialized schools and the university for the design and implementation of joint programs for the protection and management of cultural heritage, as well as theoretical and applied studies.
The forum also aims to analyze the State's efforts to protect and promote cultural heritage on legal, institutional, and practical levels, and to examine the responsibility of current generations in preserving national identity.
Participants at this meeting will address several themes divided into four main axes: the scientific involvement of universities and research laboratories; challenges related to cultural heritage; inventory, documentation, restoration, and management; and the role of training institutions in the service of heritage protection.
Speakers will also present papers on the management and valorization of cultural heritage, as well as the legal and regulatory frameworks governing its protection.
A call for participation has been launched for researchers, who must send their previously selected papers to the email address contact@encrbc.dz before May 5 to take part in the forum, which is scheduled for May 14 in the wilaya of Tipaza.
