The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) studied on Tuesday in Algiers a proposal to create an integrated industrial investment city project on private land in Boughezoul, in the wilaya of Medea. This marks the first project of its kind to be reviewed by the agency.
This took place during a meeting between the Director General of the Agency, Omar Rekkache, and the project owner regarding the establishment and development of the "Sama" integrated investment and industrial city. The project is designed as an industrial activity zone on a land plot with a total area exceeding 74 hectares, with the possibility of future expansion by an additional 150 hectares.
According to the explanations provided during the meeting, this production space is expected to include several industrial units, alongside service facilities and supporting infrastructure, contributing to the creation of an integrated industrial fabric and the generation of jobs.
On this occasion, the components of the project and ways to realize it on the ground were reviewed, in addition to its technical and economic aspects. The status of the land and the associated administrative procedures were also discussed, along with various mechanisms to overcome existing obstacles and ensure favorable conditions for its launch.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to continue coordination between the various parties involved and work on preparing a practical vision to define the regulatory and procedural framework for the project's implementation. This will allow it to move to the construction phase within appropriate deadlines. Furthermore, it was agreed to conduct a field visit to the project site next Monday.
According to the agency, the proposed project is the first experience of its kind to be studied by AAPI, reflecting a strong will to support private initiatives and enable economic operators to contribute to the development of activity zones.
It also represents an additional step toward diversifying the supply of land intended for investment and introducing innovative formulas for the preparation of economic and production spaces.
