The International Monetary Fund (IMF) revised its economic growth forecasts for Algeria upward on Tuesday, now projecting a rate of 3.8% for the year 2026, despite a global context shaped by the impact of geopolitical tensions on world economies.
These updated figures were published on the Fund’s official website during the presentation of the "World Economic Outlook" report, held on the sidelines of the spring meetings of the IMF and the World Bank.
According to the international financial institution, the Algerian economy is expected to maintain positive momentum with 3.8% growth in 2026, compared to the 2.9% previously anticipated in October 2025—an increase of 0.9 percentage points.
The IMF noted that this performance of the Algerian economy is occurring despite a complex global economic environment.
As a reminder, economic growth in Algeria is projected at 4.1% for 2026, according to forecasts from the latest Finance Act.
