The Minister of Industry, Yahia Bachir, co-chaired a coordination meeting on Tuesday with the High Commissioner for Digitalization, Meriem Benmouloud, and the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki. The meeting was dedicated to reviewing a proposed information system project designed to monitor the supply of the national market by production companies, according to a ministry statement.

The initiative aims to strengthen market supply through integrated digital solutions, including an SMS messaging system. This follows instructions issued by Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb during the Interministerial Council meeting held on April 9, 2026.

The meeting, held at the Ministry's headquarters, was attended by senior officials from the three sectors, as well as representatives from the Ministry of National Defense (MDN), the Information Systems Security Agency (ASSI), the National Gendarmerie Command (CGN), the General Directorate for National Security (DGSN), and the National Statistics Office (ONS).

Discussions focused on the methods for implementing this project, specifically regarding the improvement of public service quality and ensuring a regular supply to the national market. This will be achieved by strengthening tracking mechanisms for various sectors and essential products to ensure their availability across the entire national territory.

Participants also emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination between the industrial sector and other departments, as well as intensifying data exchange. These efforts are intended to bolster the efficiency of the monitoring system, anticipate potential shortages, and address them at an early stage, thereby contributing to better decision-making.

Furthermore, the meeting addressed the definition of specific industrial indicators to be integrated into the information system. This is intended to ensure precise monitoring of industrial activities and facilitate decision-making in accordance with the national data governance framework, as established by Presidential Decree 25-320 of December 30, 2025.

The Minister of Industry highlighted his sector's commitment to contributing effectively to this project by providing the resources and data necessary for its implementation, in coordination with the High Commission for Digitalization and other relevant sectors, the statement concluded.
