The 23rd edition of the "Djazagro" International Food Production Exhibition concluded Wednesday at the Palais des Expositions des Pins Maritimes in Algiers. After four days of activities highlighting industrial innovation and technical solutions to bolster sectoral competitiveness, the event drew to a close with the participation of nearly 700 exhibitors from 28 countries.

This professional gathering featured more than 150 Algerian companies across various sectors, alongside international exhibitors from countries including Italy, Turkey, China, and Germany, as well as several Arab nations such as Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, and Tunisia.

In the equipment sector, several innovative solutions were showcased, including silent industrial cooling systems designed for urban environments. "Installing cold rooms in urban settings poses a challenge due to noise pollution. Our equipment ensures product preservation while reducing acoustic impact," explained Feriel Merzoug, Head of Research and Development at SARL Climatec Boulanache.

These solutions specifically support small and medium-sized agrifood units operating in meat, fruits and vegetables, and local distribution. According to the company’s commercial director, Kacioui Djafer, this equipment costs 30% to 40% less than imported products, aligning with the national goal of reducing external dependency.

Regarding hygiene, the company Kersia presented a fumigation system for airborne disinfection of surfaces in agrifood production units. This process uses ready-to-use boxes that require no specific equipment and can reach difficult areas, particularly in the dairy, biscuit, and derivative sectors, according to the company’s sales manager, Bouchra Zeriat.

In the packaging segment, Faderco introduced aluminum trays resistant to extreme temperature variations, capable of withstanding up to 200°C in the oven and -20°C in the freezer. Aimed at both professionals and households, this product is certified to international food safety standards, according to company officials.

Other innovations included a machine designed to optimize beverage production lines. This equipment integrates multiple stages—from the preform to the capped bottle—reducing space and resource consumption. With a capacity of up to 15,000 bottles per hour, it is suitable for several segments, including water, juice, and liquid dairy products.

Focused on innovation, this edition featured the "Djaz’Innov" competition, which rewards the sector’s highest-performing technological solutions. The event also served as a meeting platform for producers and industrialists, facilitating exchanges regarding processing, packaging, and wrapping equipment.
