The Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, presided this Sunday in Algiers over the launch of the Algeria Bid Round 2026, which includes seven areas dedicated to hydrocarbon exploration.
The launch ceremony took place at the International Conference Center Abdelatif Rahal, in the presence of several government members, including the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mr. Mourad Adjal, the Minister of Mines and Mining Industries, the Minister of Industry, and the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises, alongside the CEO of Sonatrach and representatives of international energy companies.
This round serves as an open international competitive mechanism, allowing oil and gas companies to submit bids for exploration licenses in the designated areas. This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to bolster investment within the hydrocarbons sector.
