Oil prices surged by approximately 6% on Monday evening. Brent crude futures jumped by $5.10, or 5.64%, to settle at $95.48 per barrel at closing.
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) reached $89.61 per barrel, up by $5.76, or 6.87%. It is worth noting that both benchmarks had fallen by 9% at the close last Friday, recording their largest daily drop since April 18.
