Algerian-Qatari Steel (AQS) in Jijel has commenced preparations for the launch of the second phase of the Bellara (El Milia) complex expansion project. This expansion will enable the manufacturing of new steel products, according to a statement made this Tuesday by the company's Deputy General Manager.
In a statement on the sidelines of a study day organized by the company on “In-house Security and its Strategic Role in Protecting the Economy,” Sofiane Chaib Setti explained that “preparations have been initiated for the launch of the second phase of the Bellara complex expansion, which will allow for the introduction of new products and meet the demands of both national and international markets.”
He added that the official announcement of this phase's launch will be made later, noting that the company is recording continuous growth in both production and exports. Its products have already entered the markets of 45 countries, with expectations to reach the 46th country “within this week”.
In a related context regarding the study day, the same speaker highlighted that its objective is “to underscore the importance of institutional security and its role in supporting and protecting the national economy through the exchange of expertise and insights among various stakeholders, including practitioners, academics, and specialized experts. It also aims to adapt operations to new realities, particularly regarding artificial intelligence and its various related practices.”
