The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, sent a message of condolence to the family of the late artist Abdelmadjid Meskoud, expressing his deep emotion at the passing of one of the most prominent figures of Algiers' Chaâbi music.
The message of the President of the Republic reads:
"To the family of the late artist Abdelmadjid Meskoud,
It is with deep emotion that I learned the news of the passing of the late Abdelmadjid Meskoud. May Almighty Allah grant him His mercy and forgiveness. With his departure, the Chaâbi music scene, particularly in Algiers, loses one of its most prominent figures who left a lasting mark on this genre of music and brought joy to a vast audience for many years.
In this painful circumstance, I extend to you and the artistic community my most sincere condolences and deepest sympathies, praying to Almighty Allah to welcome the deceased into His vast paradise.
'To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return'."
