The memorandum of understanding, signed following talks between the President of the National People's Assembly and the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Mozambique, will enable the "exchange of information and expertise in the fields of legislation, parliamentary oversight, and administrative management, thereby contributing to the development of institutional performance and the reinforcement of partnership relations between the two countries," as well as "activating the work of the two parliamentary friendship groups and organizing joint training sessions and seminars."

In a joint press statement, Mr. Boughali considered the signed memorandum of understanding to be "a qualitative step toward establishing regular and sustainable parliamentary cooperation between the two countries," reflecting "the shared political will of the leadership of both countries to strengthen the historical relations of friendship and solidarity between the Algerian and Mozambican peoples."

He also reaffirmed Algeria's commitment, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to "strengthening African-African cooperation and promoting continental integration within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area."

Mr. Boughali returned to discussing the talks he held with Ms. Margarida Adamugi Talapa, which, as he explained, provided "an opportunity to exchange views on ways to promote bilateral cooperation in various fields, particularly economic, energy, educational, and parliamentary, to serve the mutual interests of both countries," in addition to regional and international issues of common concern, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause and the latest developments in the Sahel region.

In this regard, he expressed his conviction that the visit of the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Mozambique to Algeria will provide "a new impetus to bilateral relations on the parliamentary level, and will open promising horizons for a strategic partnership based on solidarity, mutual respect, and shared interests."
