The Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons, Mohamed Arkab, received on Tuesday at the ministry's headquarters, the President of the Spanish company "Arflu," Gonzaga Fernandez, accompanied by a delegation of the company's executives, according to a statement from the ministry.
The meeting, which took place in the presence of ministry officials, provided an opportunity to discuss the prospects of cooperation and partnership between the Sonatrach group and the Spanish company, which specializes in the design and manufacture of industrial valves and technical equipment intended for the oil and gas and seawater desalination sectors.
The talks focused on ways to develop industrial and technical cooperation in the fields of hydrocarbon equipment and facilities, particularly industrial valves intended for exploration, production, transport, and processing activities. This is in addition to equipment used in seawater desalination plants, in light of the ongoing national programs in this field.
The two parties also discussed the possibilities of establishing industrial partnerships aimed at localizing certain industries and equipment related to the hydrocarbon sector within Algeria, enhancing local content, and transferring technology and expertise, along with developing maintenance and technical support services.
On this occasion, Mr. Arkab emphasized the importance of supporting industrial partnerships that contribute to developing the national industrial fabric, promoting local integration, and transferring knowledge and technology. This is in line with the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at strengthening local manufacturing and valorizing national capabilities, especially in strategic sectors related to hydrocarbons and seawater desalination.
In turn, the officials of the Arflu company provided an overview of their expertise, technical capabilities, and industrial solutions that comply with international standards. They expressed their interest in strengthening their presence in the Algerian market through long-term partnership and investment projects.
