Chaib Receives a Group of National Community Abroad Members Active in the Fields of Tourism and Handicrafts

The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the National Community Abroad, Mr. Sofiane Chaib, received yesterday, Thursday, a group of national community members active in the fields of tourism, travel, hospitality, and handicrafts, coming from various parts of the world. This took place on the sidelines of their participation in the International Tourism and Travel Fair (SITEV), held at the Palais des Expositions (Pins Maritimes) from May 18 to 21, 2026.

This meeting served as an opportunity for a fruitful and constructive exchange on ways to enhance the contribution of our community abroad, within the framework of mobilizing national efforts to promote the tourism, travel, hospitality, and handicrafts sectors.

In the same context, the Secretary of State noted that "this participation, which took place through a gracious initiative by the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts, aligns with the approach adopted by our sector. It aims to enable national talents abroad to contribute, within a participatory sectoral approach, to various national activities and events organized back home."

Mr. Chaib praised "the high level of participation demonstrated by our citizens in this international event, commending their qualitative representation and the role they play in promoting the national tourism product, as well as in highlighting the richness and diversity of the cultural and natural heritage that Algeria boasts."

For their part, the participants expressed their "deep appreciation for this initiative," voicing their "profound gratitude for being involved in such events, which provided them with an opportunity to interact, exchange experiences and best practices, and strengthen bridges of communication with various actors in the sector."

They also reaffirmed their "full readiness to continue contributing to presenting the image of their country, promoting its tourist and cultural potentials, and working to enhance its attractiveness and highlight its civilized richness at the international level."
