The Pan-African Parliament (PAP) has established its activity calendar for 2026, its president, Mr. Fateh Boutbig, announced on Tuesday in Algiers, reiterating the commitment of this African body to promote strong parliamentary diplomacy in service of the African Union (AU) agenda.
In a press statement on the sidelines of the PAP Bureau meeting—held via videoconference at the headquarters of the Council of the Nation on the day following the celebration of Africa Day—Mr. Boutbig noted that the gathering enabled the finalization of the PAP's 2026 activity calendar after in-depth discussions among Bureau members. He emphasized the continental body's dedication to fostering "strong parliamentary diplomacy capable of unifying visions and efforts in service of the AU agenda."
Furthermore, he recalled his "commitment, since taking over the presidency of the PAP, to work transparently, unify efforts through collegiality, and respect the decisions of the Bureau."
