High Authority for Transparency Participates in Regional Workshop in Egypt on Misuse of AI in Corruption Crimes

The High Authority for Transparency, Prevention, and the Fight Against Corruption is participating in the Arab Republic of Egypt in a regional workshop focused on the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in corruption and financial crimes, according to a statement from the body on Thursday.

The source explained that "as part of strengthening regional cooperation and the exchange of expertise in the prevention and fight against corruption, the High Authority is participating as part of an Algerian delegation in the regional workshop on the misuse of AI applications in corruption and financial crimes." The workshop is taking place on August 5 and 6, 2026, at the National Anti-Corruption Academy, affiliated with the Administrative Control Authority of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and is organized in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

This regional event brings together representatives from anti-corruption bodies, law enforcement, and investigative authorities, alongside experts from international and regional organizations and private sector representatives. The objective is to "examine the challenges arising from the misuse of AI applications in committing corruption and financial crimes and to review the best practices and mechanisms to address them."

It is noted that the High Authority is represented at this workshop by Ms. Amiar Tinhinane.
