The 21st meeting of the Arab-African Partnership Coordination Committee at the senior officials' level was held Wednesday at the League of Arab States headquarters in Cairo, under the co-chairmanship of Iraq, the current chair of the Arab Summit, and Burundi, the current chair of the African Summit.
According to a statement from the League of Arab States, "participants examined the status of Arab-African cooperation, the follow-up on recommendations from the fourth Arab-African Summit held in November 2016 in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea," as well as "preparations for events marking the 50th anniversary of the launch of the Arab-African partnership."
The meeting concluded with the adoption of recommendations covering economic, social, and cultural sectors, as well as the tripartite mechanism for supporting the Palestinian cause.
