The Minister of Petroleum of the Republic of Niger, Hamadou Tini, began a working visit to Algeria this Tuesday, heading a high-level delegation composed of officials and executives from the Ministry of Petroleum and the Nigerien National Petroleum Products Company, according to a statement from the Ministry of Hydrocarbons.

According to the same source, this visit is part of the implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at strengthening the ties of brotherhood, cooperation, and partnership between Algeria and the Republic of Niger. It also seeks to intensify consultation and coordination between the two countries in areas of common interest, particularly in the hydrocarbons sector.

The visit also comes as part of the Nigerien minister's participation in the proceedings of the fifth ministerial meeting of the Steering Committee for the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline project. The meeting, which will bring together the ministers in charge of hydrocarbons from Algeria, Niger, and Nigeria, is scheduled to take place in Algiers.

The Ministry emphasized that this visit reflects "the shared will of the two brotherly countries to strengthen bilateral cooperation and develop structuring projects with a regional dimension, thereby contributing to supporting economic development and enhancing African energy integration."
