The National Agency for the Valorization of Hydrocarbon Resources (ALNAFT) announced in a press release this Monday the official opening of Virtual Data Rooms (VDRs) as part of the "Algeria Bid Round 2026" call for competition for hydrocarbon exploration, marking "a new milestone in the process of promoting the national mining domain to domestic and international investors."
This is the first time that technical data relating to the perimeters proposed in a call for competition are accessible through a secure digital platform, the Agency highlighted.
This development "reflects ALNAFT's desire to modernize its processes, improve the investor experience, and facilitate access to strategic information, regardless of their location," the agency indicated. It specified that the opening of the data rooms will allow interested companies to conduct an in-depth analysis of the investment opportunities offered within the framework of the Algeria Bid Round 2026 and to prepare their bids "under the best conditions."
"This new step is in line with the promotional actions carried out since the launch of the Bid Round and demonstrates ALNAFT's commitment to the transparency, efficiency, and attractiveness of the upstream hydrocarbons sector in Algeria," ALNAFT asserted.
The process timeline will continue with the bid submission phase, the opening of bids, and the awarding of the perimeters scheduled for November 2026, followed by the signing of contracts planned for January 2027.
On this occasion, ALNAFT reaffirmed "its determination to offer investors a competitive, modern environment conducive to the development of sustainable partnerships in the service of valorizing national energy resources."
As a reminder, the areas proposed under the 2026 Bid Round are: El Borma II (Ouargla), El M'Zaid North (Ouargla), Illizi Center I, East Bordj Omar Driss I (Illizi), El Hadjira III (Touggourt), Touggourt South, and El Benoud East (El Bayadh).
