The Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People's National Army (PNA), Army General Saïd Chanegriha, was received on Tuesday in Muscat by the Minister of the Royal Office of the Sultanate of Oman, His Excellency General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nuamani, in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces, Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis bin Abdullah Al Raisi, according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense.
According to the same source, "on the third day of his official visit to the Sultanate of Oman, Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the PNA, was received this June 2, 2026, by His Excellency General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nuamani, Minister of the Royal Office, accompanied by Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis bin Abdullah Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces."
During this fraternal meeting, the Army General expressed to his host "his deep thanks for the warm welcome and generous hospitality." He also reviewed the areas of military cooperation between the armies of the two countries, which are experiencing "significant momentum thanks to the high solicitude and constant follow-up of the leaders of the two countries, as well as their shared desire to further strengthen this cooperation and raise it to the expected level."
Subsequently, the Army General, accompanied by his delegation, visited the Maritime Security Center, located at the Al-Murtafa camp in the Governorate of Muscat. There, he was welcomed by Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis bin Abdullah Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces, as well as by Rear Admiral Adel bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Head of the Maritime Security Center.
During this visit, the Army General received detailed explanations regarding the Center's missions and its strategic role in managing and conducting maritime security operations within the Omani maritime zone.
He also attended a presentation on the Center's operational mechanisms in responding to various maritime security threats, notably illegal immigration, transnational organized crime, illicit trafficking, maritime piracy, and maritime terrorism. At the end of the visit, the two parties exchanged symbolic gifts.
In the same context, the Army General paid a visit to the Medical City for Military and Security Services, where he was welcomed by its President, Engineer Adi bin Hilal bin Nasser Al Maawali. He was able to witness firsthand the high level of professionalism across the facility's various departments, which provides comprehensive medical services for military and security personnel and their families. The facility utilizes the most modern technologies and equipment while simultaneously implementing training and skill development programs for its medical staff.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Army General and the President of the Medical City exchanged symbolic gifts.
