The launch of works on the Algerian section of the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (TSGP) project has garnered widespread attention across various international media outlets.

Simultaneous media reports focused heavily on the strategic dimension of this major continental project.

The reports highlighted the significance of commencing work on the Algerian segment in the Aoulef region, located in Adrar.

This milestone coincided with a ceremony overseen by the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, alongside his Nigerian counterpart, Mr. Ekperikpe Ekpo, and Nigerien counterpart, Mr. Mahaman Moustapha Barké.

The coverage underscored the growing importance of the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline, which is widely considered a structural project driving African energy integration.

Media reports linked the significance of the project to the diversification of gas supplies to international markets, particularly European ones.

The Italian news agencies "ANSA" and "Agenzia Nova" highlighted the technical aspects of the project and the measures being taken to accelerate the pace of its execution.

It was reported that the project will allow for the transport of gas over a distance of more than 4,000 kilometers to Europe, specifically to Italy and Spain.

This will be achieved through existing Mediterranean infrastructure, in a manner that will strengthen the country's strategic cooperation with Niger and Nigeria.

This energy infrastructure will also consolidate Algeria's position as an energy hub linking Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe.

Meanwhile, the New China News Agency (Xinhua) confirmed that this phase constitutes "tangible progress for one of the largest energy infrastructure projects in Africa."

The agency noted that it had been closely tracking the proceedings of the fifth ministerial meeting of the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline Task Force Committee, which took place in Algiers last Wednesday.

For its part, the Russian news agency "Sputnik" considered that with the launch of the Algerian section, the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline project "has entered a decisive phase."

Furthermore, "Bloomberg" highlighted the project's importance in strengthening Europe's energy security by providing a new source of gas supplies coming from Africa.

The agency views the launch of the Algerian section as major progress for one of the most ambitious energy projects on the African continent.

"Bloomberg" confirmed that this infrastructure will contribute to strengthening Algeria's standing.

It emphasized Algeria's positioning as a "regional energy hub and a primary corridor for transporting African gas to European markets."

Meanwhile, the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) presented the project as one of the most prominent initiatives and corridors within the African energy strategy.

The agency indicated that this infrastructure "holds strategic importance for the entire energy sector on the continent."

The same agency confirmed that the project, which falls under the framework of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD), constitutes "a lever for promoting economic integration."

For its part, the Turkish Anadolu Agency described the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline project as an "important energy project."

It concluded by highlighting the commitment of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to strengthening African cooperation, promoting economic development, and supporting energy integration across the continent.
