The Independent National Authority of Elections (ANIE) indicated in a statement on Sunday evening that the serial number assigned during the draw for the distribution of broadcast time slots will serve as an identification number. This number will be used on the ballots as well as for the candidates' electoral campaigns for the upcoming July 2 legislative elections in public spaces dedicated to electoral displays.
"ANIE informs the candidate lists running under the aegis of one or more political parties, as well as independent lists, that the serial number assigned during the draw for the distribution of time slots will act as an identification number on the ballots and in the advertising of candidacies in public spaces dedicated to electoral displays," the statement specified.
Based on the results of the draw for the distribution of time slots across public audiovisual media, "ANIE invites the candidate lists scheduled to record on the television channel (Channel 1) and the three radio channels to send via e-mail to the address campagne.elec26@ina-elections.dz, a list of names of the candidates participating in the recording at least 48 hours before the segment's broadcast date, in accordance with the distribution schedule delivered by the bailiff on June 6, 2026."
ANIE further notes that the candidates participating in the recording "must, prior to the start of the recording, provide an authorization issued by the party or by the candidates of the independent list, specifying the recording channel, the broadcast date, the time slot, and the segment."
This measure comes pursuant to Presidential Decree 26-145 convening the electoral body for the election of members of the National People's Assembly (APN), scheduled for Thursday, July 2, 2026, and in application of the provisions of Article 176 of Ordinance 21-01, which establishes the organic law relating to the electoral system, as amended and supplemented.
