The Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), Omar Rekkache, received on Tuesday in Algiers a delegation from the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), led by Christian Seitlinger. During the meeting, they examined ways and means to improve the investment climate and the development prospects for projects related to renewable energies, an Agency statement indicated.

This meeting, held in the presence of Agency executives, provided an opportunity to exchange views on ways to improve the investment climate, encourage private initiative, transfer technologies, build capacities, and develop industrial partnerships. These efforts aim to contribute to the creation of added value and integration into regional and international value chains.

On this occasion, the two parties discussed the development prospects of projects related to renewable energies. The AAPI expressed its interest in benefiting from German experience and technical support in this field to facilitate the realization of related investment projects, given their strategic importance and their role in accelerating economic transformation and establishing sustainable investment, the statement added.

This meeting falls within the framework of strengthening Algerian-German cooperation and following up on preparations for the value chain integration project between the European Union (EU) and Algeria regarding clean technologies (Cleantech) and priority sectors. This initiative seeks to support Algeria's efforts to diversify its economy, develop Cleantech-related industrial chains, and promote the competitiveness of the targeted sectors, the same source noted.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continue coordination and intensify cooperation, in accordance with common orientations, particularly in sectors related to renewable energies and the green economy.
