The Palestinian Presidency denounced on Wednesday the settlement plans prepared by extremist movements in the occupied West Bank (Cisjordanie) to seize 100 locations across the territory. These plans aim to effectively abolish the Oslo Accords, a move the Presidency characterized as a "persistence in the policy of annexation and settlement."
In a statement carried by the Palestinian news agency (Wafa), the Presidency asserted that "these plans represent a dangerous escalation, a persistence in the policy of annexation and settlement, and a blatant violation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy." The statement added that this reflects the Zionist entity's "insistence on destroying any chance for achieving peace and stability."
Furthermore, the Presidency stated that the entity continues its policy of imposing facts on the ground through force "in open defiance of the will of the international community, seeking to undermine the two-state solution and subvert all international efforts aimed at ending the occupation."
The Palestinian Presidency emphasized that all settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories are "illegal and void under international law, and a flagrant violation of United Nations resolutions, foremost among them Security Council Resolution 2334." It concluded that such actions "will not grant the occupation any rights or sovereignty over Palestinian land, nor will they alter the legal and historical status of the occupied territories."
