The Ministry of Youth has launched the 2026 National Youth Establishments Football Championship, a national competition aimed at youth from various structures under the sector, which will continue until November 1, the ministry indicated in a post published on its official Facebook page.

According to the same source, the launch of this competition, held under the slogan "A Competing Youth... A Triumphant Nation," took place on Sunday, on the occasion of the celebration of the 64th anniversary of Independence Day and the Recovery of National Sovereignty. This falls within the framework of implementing the directives of the country's high authorities aimed at promoting youth participation, encouraging community sports, and consolidating the values of citizenship and national memory.

The ministry specified that this initiative is part of the sector's strategy aimed at establishing a national sports tradition that allows for the supervision of youth potential and the strengthening of the role of youth establishments as spaces for training, citizenship, and capacity building. This will be achieved through a competition program running until November 1, coinciding with the celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the outbreak of the National Liberation War.

The competition will bring together, according to the same source, teams representing the various youth establishments across the country's wilayas, notably youth centers, community sports complexes, and multi-sports halls. It will follow a progressive competition system comprising qualifiers at the wilaya level, followed by regional phases, before culminating in the national finals.

This sporting event aims to promote the practice of football within youth establishments, expand spaces for fair competition among young people, strengthen the values of citizenship, belonging, and teamwork, as well as to detect and support young sporting talents.

The ministry also emphasized that this competition is part of the sports and educational programs implemented by the sector for the supervision and support of youth. It contributes to the prevention of various social ills and the promotion of a culture of positive participation, a sense of responsibility, and belonging.

In an effort to preserve and transmit the national memory to younger generations, the participating teams will bear the names of Martyrs or Moudjahidine, in coordination with the Directorates of Moudjahidine and Rights Holders. A presentation of these national figures will be made before the kickoff of each match to enhance knowledge of national history and perpetuate the values of loyalty to the sacrifices of the martyrs of the Revolution.

The Ministry of Youth affirmed that this competition constitutes a national event combining sporting, educational, and patriotic dimensions. It reflects the sector's desire to make youth establishments true spaces for supervision, capacity building, and the valorization of youth contributions in the service of the nation.
