The Algerian men's national basketball team, currently at a training camp in Slovenia ahead of the 2026 Arab Nations Championship, will play three friendly matches against the Slovenian national Under-20 and Under-23 teams, the Algerian Basketball Federation (FABB) announced.

According to the schedule unveiled by the federal body, national coach Ali Bouziane's men will kick off their series of preparation matches on Tuesday, July 7, against the Slovenian Under-20 team, before facing the Under-23 team on Wednesday, July 8. A third and final confrontation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, also against the Slovenian Under-23 team.

All three matches will take place at 4:00 PM (Algerian time), as part of this training camp which will continue until mid-July.

The national team flew to Slovenia on Saturday to conduct this preparation camp, the first step in their ramp-up ahead of the Arab Nations Championship, scheduled from August 8 to 16 in Cairo, Egypt.

At the end of this camp in Slovenia, Tarek Hamdani's teammates will follow up with a third preparation phase, scheduled from July 19 to 29, punctuated by several friendly matches against African national teams, before heading to the Egyptian capital.

The FABB finalized a list of 16 players for this Slovenian camp on June 26, following an initial preparation phase organized from June 17 to 26 at the ESHRA in Ain Benian with an expanded group of 20 players.

As the defending champions, the Algerian Five will approach the 2026 Arab Championship with the ambition of retaining their crown won in 2025, following a flawless run marked by six victories in as many matches.
