Algeria's Yasser Mohamed Tahar Triki clinched a gold medal in the triple jump at the World Jump Day event, held Saturday evening in Austria, with a leap measured at 17.58 meters.

On August 26, 2024, during the Paris Olympics, Triki sustained a serious heel injury and was forced to cut his season short to focus on treatment and rehabilitation. Triki returned to competition in February 2025 at the Meeting de l'Eure indoor event in France, registering performances below the 17-meter mark.

The triple jumper, representing CR Belouizdad, has steadily worked his way back to his best form and is even reaching new performance heights, as demonstrated by his display in Austria with this 17.58-meter jump.

Most notably, Triki has shown impressive consistency in recent weeks. After setting a new national record on June 19 in Doha, Qatar, with a leap of 17.67 meters, he has continued to perform beyond the 17.50-meter mark, which bodes well for the rest of his season.
