The Spanish national football team was crowned champions of the 2026 World Cup on Sunday night, after defeating its Argentine counterpart (1–0 after extra time).
This came in the World Cup final hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico (June 11 – July 19).
After a grueling battle, "La Roja" managed to crack the "Tango" defense with a goal by Ferran Torres (106').
This marks the second World Cup title for Spain, following their first crown at the 2010 tournament in South Africa.
In a match refereed by Slovenia's Slavko Vinčić and attended by 80,000 spectators at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, a draw dominated regular time despite chances from both sides.
It is worth noting that the "Tango" team completed the final with ten players following the expulsion of Enzo Fernández, who received a second yellow card (90+3').
