Commissioned by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister, Wali of Algiers, Mohamed Abdenour Rabehi, took part in New York, United States, in the high-level meeting of the United Nations General Assembly dedicated to the "midterm review of the implementation of the New Urban Agenda," according to a statement from the Algiers wilaya services.
This participation falls within the framework of "Algeria's commitment to supporting international developments in sustainable urban development, as well as showcasing the Algerian experience in urban management and city planning, particularly regarding major projects aimed at developing and modernizing the capital," the same source specified.
The meeting, which saw broad participation from representatives of member states, UN bodies, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) involved in sustainable development issues, was dedicated to "assessing the global progress in implementing the New Urban Agenda, ahead of the next phase of UN action in this field," the statement concluded.
