The Algerian "ENP Racing Team" has won the "Allan Staniforth" award for the best first-time participating team at the "Formula Student UK" automotive engineering and design competition held in the United Kingdom.
On this occasion, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Kamel Baddari, extended his congratulations to the members of the distinguished team, stating that they have "demonstrated that they embody the future of a new and victorious Algeria and are the architects of its glory," while praising their achievement in one of the most prestigious competitions for engineering students.
In this regard, the Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in charge of digital and statistical information, Abdeldjebbar Daoudi, stated to APS that the team's distinction at the Silverstone circuit in the United Kingdom reflects "the high standard of training of Algerian students and their ability to compete in the largest international events related to automotive engineering and design."
The Algerian team "was able to secure this award in the category of teams and countries participating for the first time, out of seven nations taking part in this competition for the first time," he added.
The "Allan Staniforth" award is named after the legendary British race car engineer Allan Staniforth, who contributed to training generations of engineers specialized in race car design and manufacturing, which lends this distinction significant scientific value and symbolic meaning, the official recalled.
The evaluation of the participating teams is based on several technical standards, including "the quality of engineering design, project management, manufacturing and assembly quality, as well as the results of static technical tests and performance trials," said Mr. Daoudi, who emphasized that this achievement reflects "the competence of Algerian students and their ability to showcase the Algerian university on the international stage."
