The United Nations warned of the escalation of violence against Palestinians across the occupied West Bank, calling for the protection of civilians.

Ramiz Alakbarov, Deputy United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, expressed in statements yesterday, Friday, deep concern over the continued Palestinian casualties across the occupied West Bank, emphasizing that the escalation of violence over the past week has caused continued Palestinian civilian casualties, displacement of residents, property damage, and heightened insecurity.

He stated that Palestinians "continue to be killed and injured, while attacks by Zionist settlers on Palestinian communities, places of worship, and civilian infrastructure persist," stressing the necessity for the occupation forces to take immediate steps to prevent settler violence, protect Palestinian communities, and ensure those responsible for the attacks are held accountable.

Regarding the situation in Gaza, the UN official said, "the nature of the challenge in the Strip has moved beyond human access, with the issue of funding becoming the greatest threat to food security in the Strip," warning that the situation on the ground remains extremely fragile.

The United Nations emphasized that under the conditions faced by the population in Gaza, humanitarian aid is not merely standard support, but a lifeline.
