The Minister of Culture and Arts, Malika Bendouda, affirmed on Wednesday evening in Constantine that her ministerial department supports theatrical and cinematographic projects capable of contributing to the promotion of creativity and the strengthening of national artistic production.
During her meeting with the local artistic community at the Mohamed Tahar Fergani Regional Theatre, as part of a working visit to the wilaya, the minister explained that her sector "works to support professionals and facilitate the realization of creative projects, particularly those with artistic and historical value that meet public expectations."
She added that her department is preparing mechanisms aimed at financing and supporting theatrical and cinematographic works, with a particular focus on encouraging youth initiatives and offering them better opportunities for participation and creation.
"The culture sector places great importance on training a generation of young artists capable of competing on a regional and international scale, through the implementation of training programs, the provision of production and broadcasting spaces, and the development of talents in various artistic disciplines," emphasized the minister.
She also listened to the concerns of artists and cultural sector stakeholders, assuring that their proposals will be taken into consideration within the framework of the theater and cinema development strategy. This is to enable the creation of a sustainable cultural dynamic and to strengthen the reach of Algerian artistic production.
The minister will continue her working visit in Constantine on Thursday, during which she will inspect several infrastructures under her sector, located in the wilaya capital and the municipality of El-Khroub. She will then preside over the opening of the 6th National Short Film Festival of Constantine (Algerian Short Film Days) at the Malek Haddad Cultural Center.
