The state of emergency has been extended throughout the national territory of Tunisia until December 31, 2026, the Tunisian news agency (TAP) reported, citing the Tunisian Official Journal.
"Decree No. 15 of January 30, 2026, extending the state of emergency throughout the national territory until December 31, 2026, was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Tunisia, in its issue number 14 of the year 2026," the source specified.
The previous extension of the state of emergency had been decreed on December 29 for a period of one month.
It should be noted that the state of emergency has been renewed without interruption in Tunisia since November 24, 2015, following the terrorist attack that targeted a presidential guard bus in the center of Tunis, claiming the lives of 12 agents and injuring 16 others among security forces and civilians.
