The Minister of Culture and Arts, Malika Bendouda, presided on Saturday in Constantine over the official opening of the International Forum titled "Moorish Heritage in Algeria: Shared Memory and Identity," organized at the Mohamed El Aid Al Khalifa Palace of Culture.

This high-level scientific meeting serves as the prelude to a new era of cultural traditions aimed at rehabilitating Algerian heritage and harnessing all capabilities to consolidate Constantine's status as a cultural capital par excellence.

The opening program included tributes of gratitude and appreciation to a select group of scientific and intellectual figures who have dedicated their efforts to research and the preservation of memory. Foremost among them were Tunisian historian Abdeljalil Temimi, Dr. Abdellah Hammadi, historian Nacereddine Saïdouni, and Dr. Fatima Zohra Guechi, in the distinguished presence of the great writer Z'hour Ounissi.

In her speech, Bendouda emphasized that Andalusian heritage represents an essential civilizational chapter in the history of the Algerian nation, whose roots strike deep into history. She affirmed the sector's commitment to continuing the implementation of projects that restore the city's ancient splendor.
