The National Agency for the Valorization of Hydrocarbon Resources (ALNAFT) and the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) will organize, from May 11 to 13 in Algiers, an international meeting featuring two technical workshops dedicated to exploiting hydrocarbon potential offshore and recovering mature fields, according to ALNAFT.
The agency clarified on its website that these two workshops will bring together experts and professionals from the energy sector around these strategic themes, noting that the first workshop will address the topic of exploiting hydrocarbon potential in the Algerian frontier basin in the Western Mediterranean.
This workshop will be dedicated to exploration in deep and ultra-deep areas offshore Algeria, with a focus on assessing the geological potential of marine areas that have not yet witnessed extensive exploration, innovations in geophysical data acquisition and processing, as well as new investment and cooperation prospects in offshore exploration.
As for the second workshop, it will touch upon innovative solutions to improve recovery in mature fields and tight reservoirs, particularly advanced methods for enhanced recovery, managing heterogeneous and fractured reservoirs, and exploiting the potential of tight sands belonging to the Cambro-Ordovician era, as well as Cenomanian-Turonian and Liassic carbonates.
ALNAFT confirmed that this event will constitute "a platform for exchange between local and international experts, fostering the sharing of expertise, innovation, and cooperation in developing the energy sector in Algeria."
