The Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain, Mr. José Manuel Albares, inaugurated on Friday the new headquarters of the Spanish Cultural Center (Cervantes Institute of Oran).
This inauguration took place as part of an official visit by the Spanish minister to Algeria. He was accompanied by the Ambassador of Algeria to Spain, Mr. Abdelghani Daggoum; the Ambassador of Spain to Algeria, Mr. Ramiro Fernández Bachiller; and the Director of Culture and Arts of the wilaya of Oran, Ms. Bouchera Salhi.
The minister toured the various wings of the center, where he met with students and institute staff. He also received a briefing from its director, Mr. Juan Manuel Cid Muñoz, regarding the facility's activities. The establishment features 13 classrooms dedicated to Spanish language instruction, a library containing approximately 7,000 books, and several administrative spaces.
Each year, the institute welcomes nearly 5,000 learners, taught by 30 specialized Spanish language teachers.
At the end of his visit, the Spanish Foreign Minister signed the guestbook of the Spanish Cultural Center (Cervantes Institute).
