Algerian gymnast Kaylia Nemour qualified on Saturday for the balance beam final at the fourth stage of the 2026 Women's Artistic Gymnastics World Cup, currently held in Cairo, Egypt.

Nemour dominated the qualifiers with an impressive score of 14.633, finishing ahead of Chinese gymnasts He Qionghui (14.066) and Qiu Qiyuan (13.700).

The 2024 Olympic champion had already secured her place in the uneven bars final on Friday, topping the standings with a score of 15.266, followed by China’s Qiu Qiyuan (14.000) and Jiang Shuting (13.733).

The uneven bars final is scheduled to take place this Sunday in the Egyptian capital, while the balance beam final will be held on Monday.

Kaylia Nemour enters this global competition with high momentum following her remarkable results in previous rounds of the World Cup series. She previously clinched gold on the uneven bars at the Baku (Azerbaijan) leg with 15.233 points, as well as a silver medal on the balance beam. She also earned silver on the same apparatus during the Cottbus leg in Germany.

The Cairo stage of the World Cup series is a crucial milestone for Algerian gymnasts, as it represents their final international participation before the African Championships, set to begin on April 21 in Cameroon.

As a reminder, the Cairo stage is part of the 2026 World Cup series, which the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) recently reorganized following the cancellation of the Doha stage. In this exceptional context, only the best three results for each gymnast will be considered for the final ranking on each apparatus.

Algeria's participation in Cairo comes at a vital point in the season, aimed at confirming the team's positive dynamic and ensuring the best possible preparation for upcoming continental challenges.
