The exceptional revision of the electoral rolls began this Sunday in anticipation of the legislative elections scheduled for the upcoming July 2nd. This process will continue until Sunday, April 26th.

The Independent National Authority for Elections (ANIE) had called upon citizens who are not registered on the electoral rolls, or those who will have reached the age of 18 by election day and meet the legal requirements, to request their registration on the electoral list of their municipality of residence.

It also urged citizens already registered on the electoral rolls who have changed their place of residence to request their registration on the electoral list of their new municipality of residence. To do so, they should visit the headquarters of the municipal committee for the revision of electoral rolls and submit an application, as applicable, accompanied by proof of identity and proof of residency, between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

To verify their registration or to submit registration or removal requests, citizens can access the Independent Authority's website via the following link: https://services.ina-elections.dz.

As for Algerian citizens residing abroad and registered with Algerian diplomatic and consular missions, they are required to register themselves on the electoral rolls, in accordance with the same procedures, before the electoral roll revision committee at the level of the Algerian diplomatic missions and consulates abroad.

Following the conclusion of the exceptional revision period of the electoral rolls, political parties and independent candidates will begin the process of collecting signature collection forms from the headquarters of the ANIE, its provincial delegations, or diplomatic and consular missions. Subsequently, candidacy files must be submitted no later than 45 days before the election date.

During this stage, the Authority conducts a legal review of the files to ensure they meet the candidacy requirements, including the new measures stipulated in the Law on the Electoral System. It then issues its decisions of acceptance or reasoned rejection, while allowing candidates whose files are rejected the opportunity to appeal the decisions.

Twenty-three days before the election date, the electoral campaign will begin, concluding three days prior to it, followed by the period of electoral silence.

It is worth noting that following the amendments to the Constitution and the Election Law, all stages of the electoral process for the upcoming legislative elections will be conducted under the supervision, preparation, organization, and management of the Independent National Authority for Elections. The logistics aspects are assigned to the administration, which is committed to providing all necessary material resources and placing them at the disposal of the Independent Authority.
