The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Chairs 5th Session of Political Consultations Between Algeria and Peru

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Mr. Lounès Magramane, co-chaired yesterday, Sunday, in Algiers, the proceedings of the 5th session of political consultations between Algeria and Peru alongside the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Relations of the Republic of Peru, Mr. Eric Anderson Machado, according to a ministry communiqué.

These consultations provided an opportunity to "review the status of the privileged friendly relations binding the two countries across various dimensions and to emphasize the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation and elevate it to the level of available investment opportunities and the potential possessed by both nations, particularly in the fields of energy, agriculture, and industry," the same source specified.

In this context, both parties "adopted a roadmap aimed at revitalizing existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms to breathe new life into them, particularly those related to developing bilateral economic cooperation axes," the communiqué stated.

Both parties also exchanged "views on the latest developments in international and regional issues of common interest, notably those related to the evolving situations within the respective regional spheres of the two countries," the communiqué concluded.

Previously, the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the National Community Abroad, Sofiane Chaib, received the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Relations of the Republic of Peru, Mr. Eric Anderson Machado.

This meeting took place on the occasion of the 5th session of political consultations co-chaired by the Secretaries General of the Foreign Ministries of both countries.

The occasion allowed for "addressing the conclusions of these political consultations as a mechanism aimed at examining ways and means to strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest, as the proceedings of the 5th session coincide with the celebration of the 54th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries."

The two parties also discussed the experiences of both countries regarding the management of the concerns of their respective communities abroad, as well as the sharing of best practices in this field, the communiqué concluded.
